GEODIS to Buy Deret Logistics’ French Operation
[ October 1, 2026 // Gary Burrows ]GEODIS has reached an agreement to acquire portions of French logistics provider Deret Group, adding 28 logistics sites and 13 transport agencies as it expands its contract logistics business in France.
The proposed transaction includes Deret Logistique and Deret Transporteur, along with subsidiaries Sogipac, Logtex and Deret Services Numériques. GEODIS would also acquire part of Deret SAS’s logistics real estate portfolio.
The businesses involved employ 2,400 people, according to GEODIS.
GEODIS said the acquisition would expand its French warehouse network and strengthen its position in the luxury, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. It would also increase the company’s presence around Orléans, which GEODIS described as a major French logistics hub.
Founded in 1947, Deret provides transport and logistics services for French and international companies.
The transaction remains subject to consultation with employee representative bodies at both companies and customary closing conditions, including merger-control approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
GEODIS, owned by SNCF Group, operates in nearly 170 countries with 48,000 employees. The company reported revenue of €10.6 billion in 2025.
