Exports Up at Long Beach, Overall Cargo Volumes Down

August exports surged 14.8% through the Port of Long Beach compared to the same month in 2015, but lower imports drove overall volumes down. Harbor terminals moved 641,029 TEUs equivalent units in August, an 8.9% year-over-year decrease. Of those, 321,625 TEUs were import containers, which were down 10.2%. Exports numbered 159,247 TEUs.
