SmartKargo Expands Management Team

[ March 13, 2019   //   ]

SmartKargo announced the expansion of its management team with the
addition of Mr. Venkatesh Pazhyanur, who joins the award-winning air cargo
management software company as Vice President of Digital Experience. Prior
to joining SmartKargo, Venkatesh spent over 20 years of his career serving the
Air Freight industry, most recently as Senior Industry Director for freight
solutions, leading the practice at Unisys. Previously, he served as an e-Freight
Advisor at Delta Airlines where he led Delta’s participation in the Air Freight
industry’s e-Freight initiative — with the distinction of Delta being the 耀rst North
American airline to lead the global initiative of the International Air Transport
Association during his tenure.

Olivier Houri, SmartKargo EVP and Chief Revenue Ocer said: “We are proud
and very happy to have Venkatesh joining our experienced team here at
SmartKargo. He is one of the top thought leaders in our industry and regularly
contributes to IATA initiatives such as 1R, Cargo IQ, e-AWB advisory council and
XML task force.”

“SmartKargo holds a unique market position as an ‘end-to-end’ Cargo & Logistics solution provider today,” said Pazhyanur. “As a company with its sole focus on the freight industry, SmartKargo provides advanced technology via its cloud-based SaaS platform, harnessing synergies to elevate the air cargo digital experience.”

Pazhyanur added: “The industry today seems to be at an impasse, with suggestions that the Air Cargo business is still too entrenched to change, although technology solutions are there for those who want them. The situation demands innovative ideas on new business models with the right technology enablers—and SmartKargo is well poised to deliver them. I am excited to be joining the SmartKargo team to contribute and develop this journey.”

SmartKargo launched its award-winning cloud-based air cargo management Software-as-a-Service back in 2012 and is now experiencing signi耀cant growth in global markets. SmartKargo technology was developed by MIT engineers and is becoming the gold standard for the Air Cargo Industry, serving the entire value chain of Air Cargo carriers including Passenger Airlines and Freighter Operations, Global Sales Agents (GSAs), Ground Handlers and Regulators. Within a short timeframe, SmartKargo is now deployed by air carriers in the USA, Mexico, South America, Europe, Middle-East, India and Southeast Asia. Such a global footprint of air cargo operators,
interconnected to each other via a single cloud-based environment, creates an opportunity for all participants to extend cargo services seamlessly to a large customer base around the world.
