Shake it Up

[ December 16, 2022   //   ]

Freight shippers are struggling to recruit and retain drivers, and it gets worse every year. The industry has moved the needle slightly by increasing driver pay, and some states have lowered the age requirement for interstate drivers from 21 to 18. But this isn’t nearly enough to substantively address a nationwide shortage of nearly 78,000 drivers.

An industry shakeup is needed now to prioritize the entrepreneurial driver’s work satisfaction to create stable, lasting partnerships with shippers, benefitting everyone’s bottom line.

JLE Industries, the fastest-growing, technology-enabled Flatbed freight solutions provider in North America, is already seeing the business benefits of this approach with a trucker shortage-defying annual, 52-week turnover below 25% – an industry-best retention rate.
