Delivering on its commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, Seaboard Marine recently announced that it will join the TradeLens solution, a platform developed to promote efficient and secure global trade.

Made possible by blockchain technology, TradeLens intends to enhance the shipping industry through a secure interface exclusively dedicated to freight transport.

Seaboard Marine will seek to leverage this technology to enhance its relationships with its TradeLens customers, as well as with its business intelligence for improved resource planning, flow of shipping information, processing of documentation, and security of sensitive data.

Miguel Peruyero, Vice President of Management Information Systems at Seaboard Marine said, “Seaboard Marine is a trade leader in the Western Hemisphere and as such places great emphasis embracing innovative ways to improve efficiencies wherever possible. In keeping with our culture of improvement, early adoption of the TradeLens solution was the next logical step in preventing delays from documentation errors and other impediments currently affecting the industry.”

Mike White, CEO at TradeLens said, “We are delighted to welcome Seaboard Marine to TradeLens. This move underscores Seaboard Marine’s commitment to addressing critical shipping challenges with leading-edge technologies and partnerships. Furthermore, Seaboard Marine’s operational breadth across the Americas further strengthens the platform and presents new opportunities for the existing TradeLens community.”
