Retail Advocate Promotes French, Lukoskie

The National Retail Federation has promoted David French from senior vice president to executive vice president of government relations, and moved Adam Lukoskie from executive director of the NRF Foundation to serve as senior vice president.
French, who will also become executive director of the National Council of Chain Restaurants, joined NRF in 2021 and has led NRF’s advocacy strategy to advance retail legislative priorities.
He has played a leading role in legislative battles impacting retail, including swift fee reform, organized retail crime, internet sales tax, patents, labor policy issues, tax reform and trade policy. Most recently he successfully lobbied for preservation of the corporate tax rate and passage of the INFORM Consumers Act,, the Ocean Shipping Reform Act and the Postal Service Reform Act.
“Members of Congress, administration officials and industry influencers recognize David for his extensive knowledge of retail’s impact on the economy and businesses large and small across the country,” said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay.
Lukoskie joined the NRF Foundation in 2018 and leads all major programs including the RISE Up training and credentialing program and University initiatives, communications, content ,fundraising and board of directors.
Under Lukoskie’s his leadership ,the NRF Foundation has tripled engagement in the RISE Up training and credentialing program with 3,500 organizations and 45,000 learners, and has developed a Supply Chain credential to meet the current needs of retailers. He increased programming focused on upskilling current retail workers, and launched the Emerging Leaders Summit and the Bright Futures Scholarship.
NRF is the leading authority and voice for the retail industry, which is the largest U.S. private sector employer.
