project44 Extends Platform with Industry’s First Real-time Volume LTL Solution

[ June 20, 2017   //   ]

project44, the logistics and transportation industry’s leading automation, optimization and visibility provider, has introduced new capabilities designed to enable a real-time and fully automated Volume LTL quoting and tendering experience.

Securing a Volume LTL freight quote, which is required when freight is greater than 12 linear feet but less than 28 linear feet, has traditionally been a labor-intensive and costly process. project44’s new product provides the industry’s only access point to real-time Volume LTL rates, dropping the time it takes to quote shipments to nanoseconds. Customers replacing manual rating (phone calls or emails) with project44 are able to increase productivity, reduce errors, offload customer service requirements, and restrict shipment rerates. This activity can all be completed directly within a user’s current TMS interface or through an additional portal.

Since 2014, project44 has invested in building out a one-to-many network infrastructure that provides customers instant access to an entire network of multimodal capacity providers. The technology company’s growing Capacity Provider Network (CPN) currently includes API-based connectivity with over 70% of the domestic Volume LTL capacity, including, but not limited to, industry-leading carriers like FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, Sunset Pacific, UPS Freight, and YRC Freight.

One such customer already signed up to leverage project44’s new Volume LTL solution is GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., an Arizona-based leading technology-driven 3PL freight management solution provider. “project44 is the only technology provider in the market that allowed us to embrace new Volume API capabilities and connections without having to devote significant internal development resources to do the same,” said Dave Bush, Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations & Pricing at GlobalTranz. “Within days of signing a contract, our team could secure real-time volume quotes and transit times from an entire network of carriers – immediately increasing our productivity, helping us make smarter decisions at a much quicker pace, all while allowing our internal resources to focus on other critical initiatives.”

“Uber and Amazon’s push into the logistics sector has created a massive margin compression for 3PLs and traditional brokers. The best way to offset that is by gaining internal efficiencies,” says Tommy Barnes, President of project44. “project44 is building out innovative, multimodal products that will instantly lower our customers’ costs and increase efficiencies, empowering them to remain competitive and avoid shrinking margins. This first-of-its-kind real-time automation solution for Volume LTL is a perfect example of that.”

project44 is rapidly evolving their product to meet the industry’s growing need for greater speed while managing a multimodal supply network. They are committed to fast-tracking the Volume LTL product offering, and will be quickly releasing additional product enhancements that support full shipment lifecycle automation in both July and August of 2017. Their expanded API-based platform now supports Volume LTL activity in addition to Full Truckload and LTL–providing the industry with an even more integrated opportunity to automate the freight transportation process.
