Port of Long Beach Revamps Leadership Team
[ March 25, 2026 // Gary Burrows ]The Port of Long Beach is restructuring its leadership team as part of a broader strategy to improve decision-making, operational performance and long-term resilience, the port said.
The changes include the creation of a new Organizational Effectiveness bureau, consolidating human resources and procurement functions under a single unit aimed at strengthening workforce development and business engagement, including with small contractors.
Port CEO Noel Hacegaba said the new structure is designed to streamline communication and enable faster, more coordinated execution as the port advances its long-term growth and modernization plans.
The port is also considering a new chief administrative officer role to oversee four of its six bureaus, including commercial services, engineering, finance and planning, centralizing operational oversight.
The reorganization supports the port’s “2050 Vision,” which targets doubling cargo volumes while investing in infrastructure, digital systems and zero-emissions operations.
Handling about US$300 billion in cargo annually, the Port of Long Beach is one of the largest U.S. gateways and a key hub for transpacific trade.
