Representatives from Holt Logistics and the Port of Philadelphia (PhilaPort) joined officials from the Embassy of Argentina in the US on March 1 to welcome the first shipment of Argentine beef into the United States in more than 17 years. Officials gathered at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal in South Philadelphia for a dockside plaque presentation to mark the occasion.

The shipment will include several tons of Argentine lean beef, primarily used for higher end cuts and hamburgers. The beef will arrive on the Hamburg Sud M/V Rio Barrow, which will arrive at The Port of
Philadelphia from Buenos Aires, Argentina. The shipment marks the first time since 2001 that Argentine beef has been allowed for import into the US.
