ONE Restructure Expands Asia-Africa Network

[ October 1, 2026   //   ]

Ocean Network Express will consolidate its Asia-Pacific and African regional management effective April 1, 2027, extending a broader restructuring begun this year as the container carrier targets growth and tighter control of its global network.

ONE will combine East Asia functions now based in Hong Kong with its South Asia headquarters in Singapore, creating an Asia-Pacific regional headquarters overseeing 15 markets under Louis Tang. East, West and South Africa will meanwhile come under ONE’s Dubai headquarters, while London retains Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa.

The changes follow a management restructuring accompanying CEO Till Ole Barrelet’s July 1 appointment that placed global functional and regional executives within a matrix structure reporting to the CEO.

ONE has also been expanding its African network, launching a Mediterranean-West Africa service in July and restructuring weekly Asia-South Africa services earlier this year. The carrier said Dubai already manages much of Africa’s trade with Asia, India and the Middle East, and centralizing those markets will allow one team to coordinate services and capacity across the corridor.

The restructuring is part of ONE’s 2030 growth strategy. Local operations and customer contacts will remain in place during the transition.
