[ December 8, 2017   //   ]

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. received the 2017 ATA Excellence in Security Award. The American Trucking Association (ATA) Transportation Security Council determines the winner each year. The honor recognizes companies that set the standard for all others in the field of trucking security, and exceed in their ability to protect the employees, property, trucks and cargo. This award is the only nationally recognized security award of its kind in the industry.

Dave Bates, Old Dominion’s Senior VP of Operations, said, “To be recognized with this security award is truly an honor. We work around the clock to ensure our customer’s shipments are delivered error free, and our employees are safe while doing it. Our commitment to having up to date claims prevention technology and safety training will help us continue to provide premium service moving forward.” The award is based on a range of criteria, including extent and effectiveness of security programs, security policies, procedures, training and record.

Old Dominion accepted the award at the ATA Safety Management Council and Transportation Security Council’s Safety, Security and Human Resources National Conference and Exhibition in Memphis, Tenn.
