MSC introduces emergency intermodal charge on US imports

[ July 13, 2021   //   ]

Due to the ongoing congestion issue in the US ports and intermodal inland network, the costs of inland services are raising significantly. Therefore, MSC will introduce an Emergency Intermodal Charge (EIC).
As from 1 August 2021 (gate in date at POL) until further notice, the EIC will be charged $350 per container for all import cargo to the US and Canadian gateways where MSC is responsible for the rail, rail and truck, truck, and/or barge moves.
