Logistics Grows in Chicago, as is Echo Global Logistics

[ June 22, 2018   //   ]

The logistics industry has experienced unprecedented growth over the past decade and is expected to continue this positive trajectory for years to come. As a major global logistics hub, Chicago has been at the forefront of this expansion.
Chicago-based Echo Global Logistics, Inc., a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation management services, announced today they’re looking for tech innovators to join their team and build solutions that drive the industry forward.
Echo’s goal is to simplify clients’ transportation needs in order to ensure goods are shipped quickly, securely, and cost-effectively. The company’s ability to do this hinges on the custom, proprietary technology created in-house by their talented tech team.
“We’re looking for true innovators who want to get their hands dirty by building tech solutions from the ground-up,” said Doug Waggoner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO at Echo. “The logistics industry is on an impressive trajectory and Echo has remained at the forefront of this growth because of our sales prowess and tech innovators. We’re looking for the best of the best among Chicago’s Tech community who are as passionate about effecting change and driving innovation as we are.”
Since its inception in 2005, Echo’s Tech team has enabled them to be a disruptor in the industry and revolutionize tech’s integration in logistics.
“A career with Echo is an opportunity for those passionate about tech – in all facets of the word – to directly bring about change in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Miles English, Chief Information Officer at Echo. “The transportation industry is where tech innovation is happening right now. Anyone who craves innovating in a start-up-like environment but with the backing of a $2 billion steamroller, should check us out.”
Echo is looking to add over 70 team members to their tech teams in Chicago. When the last project of the day is completed, you might find co-workers gearing up for summer softball, talking shop at our weekly beer Friday, or competing in a game of foosball, pop-a-shot, or ping-pong.
