LATAM announced sustainability strategy

[ May 6, 2021   //   ]

LATAM Airlines Group recently announced its plans for a new sustainability strategy. LATAM has been working towards a more sustainable business model for years, and as the company moves out of bankruptcy, it has decided to further these actions and place sustainability at the center of its business strategy.
Within the new strategy, LATAM outlines four main pillars or commitments that will contribute to the protection of South America’s ecosystems for the next 30 years.
Latin America is home to six of the 10 countries with the greatest biodiversity in the world; it has a third of the planet’s freshwater; more than a quarter of its forests and arable land; and 40% of the world’s species. Faced with an enormous responsibility to care for these assets and as part of the aviation industry, which generates 3% of global CO2 emissions, LATAM is pleased to share its path towards becoming a more sustainable group.
