JAXPORT Adds 3rd Liebherr Crane at Talleyrand

[ May 19, 2026   //   ]

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has placed a third new ship-to-shore container crane into service at its Talleyrand Marine Terminal, expanding cargo-handling capacity at Florida’s largest container port.

The 50-gauge crane, built by Liebherr, features a 100-foot lift height and can reach across 17 containers on deck, allowing the terminal to handle larger vessels and improve operational efficiency.

The unit is the final delivery in a three-crane procurement completed over the past year. Two identical cranes entered service in January at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.

The additions are part of a broader US$93 million program to modernize the port’s crane fleet. JAXPORT said US$53 million of the total has been supported by state funding over the past two years, with the balance covering equipment upgrades and related infrastructure improvements.

Port officials said the expanded crane capacity is intended to support cargo growth and improve vessel turnaround times across its container terminals.
