Ingram Marine Forms Infrastructure Unit

[ March 14, 2024   //   ]

Ingram Marine Group, a partner in Port NOLA’s container-on-barge service, has created the Ingram Infrastructure Group, fueled by its acquisitions of Inland River Transport Holdings LLC, or SCF, and NexStar Solutions LLC, or NexStar.
Nashville-based Ingram, a leading provider of material handling and supply chain services, acquired SCF, a provider of integrated transportation and logistics services, from SEACOR Holdings Inc., following the signing of a purchase agreement in October 2023.
NexStar Solutions LLC provides logistics infrastructure consulting, specializing in comprehensive advisory services to investors, governments, and organizations. The NexStar team has handled more than 200 commodities and has managed more than 100 terminal assets, 30 railroads, and more than 900 trucking assets over the last 20 years. Within that set of assets, the NexStar team has handled more than 200 different commodities.
“Our recent creation of Ingram Infrastructure Group … has greatly increased our presence in the container-on-barge market, as well as our material handling capabilities and ability to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions for our customers,” said John Roberts, president and CEO of Ingram Marine Group.
As part of the acquisition, NexStar’s Bill Kinzeler, Daniel Lester and Frank Prentiss have joined Ingram Infrastructure LLC as the senior leadership team. Kinzeler will serve as senior vice president and general manager, Lester as senior vice president of business development, and Prentiss as commercial vice president.
“We are excited to marry our deep marine transportation knowledge and track record with additional capacity in material handling and supply chain solutions,” said Aaron Barrett, Ingram COO.
