Yusen Logistics, the award-winning pharmaceutical global logistics specialist, has been awarded a major contract by India-based pharmaceutical manufacturer Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.

Glenmark was looking to reduce delivery lead times to its UK customer base while maintaining stringent quality standards for its high-quality generics and specialty products.

The Yusen Logistics solution is based at the company’s 161,459-square-foot GDP compliant, MHRA-licensed warehousing facility at Grange Park, Northampton. The facility provides a high-security environment, being both AEO approved and TAPA compliant.

Yusen Logistics is now handling all Glenmark product destined for the UK market from the strategically-located facility situated within a four-hour drive of the whole country. Yusen Logistics is providing a comprehensive solution, including temperature-controlled pallet storage and pick and pack, as well as managing final mile delivery nationwide in the UK (on a day 1 for day 3 delivery) to wholesalers and pharmacies.

Frank Packman, General Manager Business Development for the Healthcare sector at Yusen Logistics commented: “Healthcare manufacturers are increasingly searching for high quality, end-to-end solutions to move their products throughout the supply chain while maintaining a stringent temperature regime at all times. Maximizing availability of stock, while minimizing risk in the supply chain, is driving demand.”

Yusen Logistics operates a collaborative network servicing final mile distribution requirements across the whole of Europe and beyond in the healthcare sector, providing in-market supply to end users – hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, wholesalers and vaccination centers.

This service is dedicated solely to the stringent requirements of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, with over 50,000 delivery points. Yusen Logistics currently makes 20,000 deliveries per week across 36 countries.
