Dachser Acquires Scottish Partner Drummond

Dachser is acquiring longtime Scottish partner Drummond Distribution, giving the German logistics provider its first company-owned locations in Scotland and expanding its European groupage network.

Drummond operates five locations across Scotland’s Central Belt between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with about 46,500 square meters of warehouse space, 100 trucks and 80 trailers. The family-owned company generated about £20 million in revenue in 2025 and employs about 175 people. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The companies have worked together since 2008, with Drummond connecting Scottish customers to Dachser’s European Logistics network. Dachser said it currently has no locations in the region, allowing it to add coverage without duplicating existing operations.

“The acquisition of Drummond strengthens our network in the United Kingdom and sets the course for further growth,” said Alexander Tonn, Dachser chief operating officer for Road Logistics. He said Scotland’s export-oriented industries would gain more direct connections to European markets.

Drummond will continue under its existing management team led by Damon Burns, which will report to Mark Rollinson, managing director of Dachser UK & Ireland, as the company’s current owners transition out of the business.

Dachser operates 427 locations worldwide with about 37,500 employees. It reported 2025 revenue of €8.3 billion and handled 86.2 million shipments totaling 46.7 million tonnes.
