Cosdel International Transportation is shipping classic cars from 18 countries to this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the 71st Edition of the California, U.S. show.

The classic car logistics specialist, which is a Global Critical Logistics (GCL) Company, has been a preferred supplier for the annual Concours since the mid 1980s, and this year is handling the overseas vehicles taking part in the Pebble Beach Concours.

Cosdel is also managing the International Entrant Pavilion, a marquee, which houses most of the international entrants’ cars, and Martin Button, Chief Executive Officer, Cosdel is a member of the selection committee for the show.

“We are very proud of our long association with this prestigious event, and excited to be transporting so many rare cars with pedigrees from Le Mans and Panamericana,” said Button.

“We rely on air and ocean freight for transportation and this year has not been without its challenges, with air freight capacity issues, Customs delays, and port congestion creating new hurdles, which the industry has not witnessed before.

“But with over 60 years’ of experience of transporting high value vehicles, we have the experience and expertise to make sure the show goes on!”

A total of 230 classic cars and 28 Concepts have been shortlisted to take part in the automotive charitable event this Sunday, 21st August, where both pre-war and post-war collector cars will be judged for authenticity, function, history, and style.

Over 10,000 spectators are expected at the Concours, with judges rewarding winners in different classes arranged by type, marque (manufacturer), coachbuilder, or time period, with one “Best of Show” award given to a single car from the group of first place class winners.

Cosdel, which was founded in the 1960s, has shipped cars to and from Concours events all over the world including Japan, China, India, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Dubai, Australia, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, France and Italy.

The specialist forwarder also services museum automotive exhibits, the most recent being the Norman Foster MOTION exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain.

Button is an avid classic car rally participant and has shipped thousands of cars to rallies and races worldwide including the Mille Miglia, Le Mans 24 Hours, and The Goodwood Festival of Speed.
