Pall-Ex Names Byers Interim CEO

Pall-Ex Group appointed Barry Byers interim group CEO following the departure of former CEO Kevin Buchanan.

Buchanan left Pall-Ex with immediate effect Oct. 9. The company declined to discuss the circumstances, citing employment confidentiality, but said his departure was unrelated to the network’s financial or operational performance.

Byers joined the palletized freight distribution network in 2019 and most recently served as group chief operating officer. He helped lead Pall-Ex through the COVID-19 pandemic and its acquisition and merger with Fortec. His earlier positions included senior roles at Palletways, Royal Mail and TNT Express.

Byers said his immediate priorities include maintaining service to customers and network members while continuing investment in technology, shipment visibility and operational tools.

Craig Stevens, a Pall-Ex founding member and Pall-Ex Investments board member, also was appointed interim chairman of the Pall-Ex Investments board.

The company said it would announce permanent succession plans later.
