GEODIS Gains Poland Defense Certification
[ October 30, 2026 // Gary Burrows ]GEODIS has obtained certification in Poland permitting it to expand international forwarding services involving strategically sensitive and dual-use goods.
The Internal Compliance Programme certificate, known in Poland as WSK, was issued Sept. 16 by the Quality Certification Centre of the Military University of Technology. It confirms that GEODIS Road Network in Poland meets requirements governing trade in strategic goods.
GEODIS said the certification creates opportunities to work with defense-sector customers and other industries requiring enhanced security and regulatory compliance.
The company plans to build on its existing capabilities in full truckload forwarding, international distribution and air and ocean freight forwarding. Specific transport arrangements will depend on customer requirements, cargo characteristics and applicable regulations.
“Growing defense investments and increased NATO activity are driving demand for secure and specialized logistics services,” Paweł Polnik, GEODIS quality and security director in Poland, told Freight Business Journal North America. “For GEODIS, this creates new opportunities to expand our services and strengthen cooperation with customers in the defense sector.”
Obtaining the certification required GEODIS to establish internal control procedures and provide specialized training for employees responsible for managing and supervising the services. The company said its compliance program will be monitored, reviewed and updated.
GEODIS emphasized regulations governing strategic-goods trade, including requirements under Poland’s Act of Nov. 29, 2000.
The company has not announced any defense-sector contracts or shipments under the certification. Polnik said GEODIS is implementing the necessary legal and operational arrangements and training its sales and operations teams in preparation for potential projects.
The certification also covers dual-use products—goods, software and technologies that may have both civilian and military applications and are subject to national and European Union trade controls.
