Turkish Airlines Orders Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft

Turkish Airlines has finalized an order with Boeing for as many as 150 737 MAX aircraft as the carrier continues a major expansion of its fleet and Istanbul hub network.

The agreement includes firm orders for 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and options for another 50 737 MAX jets. Turkish Airlines also secured substitution rights for the larger 737-10.

The airline said the aircraft will support expansion of short- and medium-haul domestic and international services. The agreement is Turkish Airlines’ largest Boeing single-aisle order.

Turkish Airlines, including AJet, currently operates more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 MAX and Next-Generation aircraft, 787 Dreamliners, 777 passenger aircraft and 777 Freighters. The latest agreement follows an order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners placed in 2025.

The carrier’s total passenger and cargo fleet currently stands at 566 aircraft serving 358 destinations in 133 countries.

Turkish Airlines and Boeing also signed an industrial participation memorandum this year covering skills development, technology and know-how transfer and potential new business opportunities in Türkiye’s aviation sector.
