GEODIS Reinforces India’s Emerging Pharma Role
[ July 3, 2026 // Gary Burrows ]GEODIS has strengthened its healthcare logistics network in Asia after its Hyderabad, India, operation achieved the International Air Transport Association’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) Pharma certification, validating its ability to handle temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments to international standards.
The certification confirms that the site’s quality management systems, operational procedures, infrastructure, risk management, employee training, temperature-control capabilities and regulatory compliance meet IATA’s requirements for pharmaceutical logistics.
The addition is strategically significant because Hyderabad has become one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturing and export centers, serving global healthcare supply chains.
“Hyderabad is one of the world’s most important pharmaceutical manufacturing and export hubs, making it a strategic location for our healthcare logistics network,” Chris Cahill, managing director, Middle East and India sub-continent for GEODIS, said in announcing the certification. He said the accreditation strengthens the company’s ability to support customers moving increasingly complex and temperature-sensitive healthcare products while reinforcing investment in India’s growing life sciences sector.
The Hyderabad facility becomes GEODIS’s 29th CEIV Pharma-certified location worldwide, including nine certified sites across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. The company said it employs more than 1,000 people across 15 locations in India serving more than 7,000 customers.
The certification is part of GEODIS’s broader healthcare logistics strategy, which combines specialized infrastructure, trained healthcare logistics personnel, shipment visibility tools and quality controls designed to support the movement of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products worldwide.
