Log-hub Initiative to Help LSPs’ Lost Margins

[ May 28, 2026   //   ]

Swiss supply chain analytics provider Log-hub has launched a program aimed at helping logistics service providers identify hidden operational inefficiencies and recover lost margins across transport and distribution networks.

The initiative targets groupage, full truckload and fourth-party logistics operators facing continued pricing pressure and rising transport costs despite relatively stable or growing shipment volumes.

Log-hub said the program combines supply chain analytics with operational expertise to uncover inefficiencies often buried within daily transport activities, including underperforming lanes, partially utilized trucks, inefficient routing structures and manual planning processes.

“Most logistics companies know their total transport cost. Far fewer can clearly see profitability at the lane, truck, customer or shipment level,” said Dirk Reich, chairman of the board. “The savings are often already inside the operation; the challenge is making them visible and actionable.”

Unlike traditional consulting engagements or software implementation projects, the initiative is structured around measurable operational improvements using existing transport and financial data, the company said.

The program identifies 13 targeted savings opportunities across three logistics operating models.

For groupage operators, the focus includes network profitability visibility, shipment consolidation, dynamic line-haul optimization and tour planning. For full truckload carriers, the initiative addresses truck-level profitability analysis, automated route planning and reducing empty miles. Fourth-party logistics providers are targeted with tools tied to network control, inbound order management and retail distribution optimization.

“The goal is not to optimize everything at once,” said Sandro Brändle, chief data and analytics officer. “The biggest impact usually comes from identifying the one or two areas where margin leakage is highest and addressing those first.”

Log-hub said the program follows a four-stage engagement process beginning with a qualification call and operational value assessment before moving into implementation and performance measurement.

The launch comes as transportation and logistics providers increasingly turn to data analytics, automation and network optimization tools to improve efficiency amid ongoing freight market volatility, labor pressures and shifting supply-chain patterns across Europe and global trade markets.
