[ March 25, 2026 // Gary Burrows ]Ocean Network Express said it has completed a long-term partnership with Dongwon Group by acquiring an indirect stake in Dongwon Global Terminal Busan, strengthening its position at one of Asia’s key transshipment hubs.
The Busan facility is South Korea’s first fully automated container terminal, using automated guided vehicles. When fully built out, it is expected to handle more than 4.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units annually, with five berths and one feeder berth.
ONE said the investment will improve service reliability and network stability by securing capacity and enabling more efficient transshipment flows through Busan, a major regional gateway.
Hiroki Tsujii, global chief officer for product and network at ONE, said the partnership supports long-term growth and will provide customers with more consistent connections across Asia and the carrier’s global network.
