U-Freight Sees Growing Medical Logistics

[ October 16, 2025   //   ]

The growing market in medical aesthetic products moving from South Korea to China is proving lucrative to the U-Freight Group.

One year after the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Hongyu Supply Chain Management Co (HYSC) to develop logistics services for medical and healthcare manufacturing and shipping moving products between South Korea and China.

“We are developing a portfolio of service products including regular general air and sea cargo transportation, as well as temperature-controlled services including active and passive refrigeration boxes and containers,” said Simon Wong, CEO of the U-Freight Group. “This sees wide use of airfreight ULDs and sea freight reefer containers, as well as packing, stuffing, trucking and warehousing operations within the temperature-controlled supply chain.

A Transport Intelligence report gauged the global pharmaceutical logistics market at 95.8 billion euros, growing 5.3 percent year-on-year and forecasts a five-year compound annual growth rate of 4.7 percent.

Wong said both companies are keen to cooperate in the specialist medical and pharmaceutical products and share expertise “to become the ‘go-to’ provider for this sophisticated and demanding traffic,” Wong said.

South Korea, known for its advanced technology and highly skilled workforce, is a global leader in medical aesthetics, with a thriving market for surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Medical tourism plays a significant role, attracting patients from around the world seeking high-quality, affordable aesthetic treatments, U-Freight said.
